This section of the internet portal www.diskriminace.cz is intended for foreigners and legal matters related to the status of foreigners in Czech Republic.
Since its creation NGO Counselling Centre for Citizenship / Civil and Human Rights (Poradna pro občanství / Občanská a lidská práva) within the programme Migration, sponsored by the nadation Open Society Fund (OSF Praha) since 2002, is concerned above all with:
a) legal counselling and other legal aid to concrete clients in matters of citizenship, alien law and related legal issues
b) monitoring of functioning of alien legislature and the situation of human rights protection in Czech Republic as well as monitoring of the migration policy of CR
c) achieving of system improvements in the field of the migration policy; for this purpose the Counselling Centre proposes changes of legal regulations and aspires after achieving of case authorities.
In the section NEWS (Aktuality) you will find current news from the field of alien law.
NEWS FROM THE WORLD OF MIGRATION (Zprávy ze světa migrace) contain other current news which are related to foreigners but not purely to legal matters.
Section MIGRATION PROGRAMME (Program Migrace) represents a large project that lasts more than 3 years, supported by OSF Prague, which is carried out by the Counselling Centre in cooperation with the NGO Multicultural Centre Prague (Multikulturní centrum Praha) and with NGO People in need (Člověk v tísni). In the section LEGAL COMPARATIVE STUDY (Právní komparativní studie) there are some documents - outputs of the projects and several other texts concerning migration.
ALIEN LAW AND PROPOSED CHANGES (Cizinecké právo a navrhované změny) contents a range of texts which analyse the current czech alien law. There are several commentaries on the czech Alien Act.
In the section CONSULTING ROOM (Právní poradna) you can find a list of questions and answers from the field of the alien law.
If you want to put a question, please go ahead as follows:
1) have a look at the section CONSULTING ROOM if there is a similar question and answer to the yours
2) have a look at the text of ALIEN ACT 2006 – EU CITIZENS (Cizinecký zákon 2006 – občané EU) aswell, which you will find in the section ALIEN LAW AND PROPOSED CHANGES, eventually also at other texts (e.g. in the NEWS), if there the answer on your question is included
3) write at the bottom of this site your question as an public reaction (it is possible that also other visitors of this site solve a similar problem and that they will be glad to read the answer which you will get from a visitor or the administrator of the site). If you, due to any cause, do not want or cannot put your question publicly set the modus of the question as „private“ or mail us at migrace@diskriminace.cz.
Your questions should concern czech alien law only. Questions which refer to foreign alien legal regulations (e.g. how to get a residence permit to the USA) or questions refering to other legal areas (e.g. how to settle rent debts ) cannot be answered due to limited capacity of our Counselling Centre.
Of course you can put your question also in english and you will recieve an english answer. In our Counselling Centre we speak english, german and spanish.
